Beyond Academics

There is much to achieve beyond the portals of the academic halls, if you wish to develop your intellectual, cultural and artistic personality and to be a complete human being. It is your personal and professional potential that guides our beliefs that you can discover the distant worlds and be a part of the global society. Education at Vidya facilitates such occasions and opportunities when you are provided the desired environment through excursion and other outdoor activities like sports etc. Those add a sense of fun and relaxation on the one hand and promote you talent and personality on the other.

MITS attaches a special importance to the exposure and experience of different climates and cultures, landscapes and societies because they inspire the imagination of the young observers and impart a sense of history to the seemingly ordinary experiences. Such exercises of excursions and participation in the games and sports, other athletic activities and non competitive programmes give you a renewed self-definition, self- confidence and self affirmation; they teach you to value hard work and recapitulate the belief that " healthy mind" is the precious gift of "healthy body." Besides, you learn to be responsible for your actions and hold a team spirit which is the secret behind any successful "game," be it the game on the playground or in your professional surrounding.

For the harmonious development of the faculties of man, it is essential to be acquainted with the best that has been known, said or done in the world. It is called culture and it reveals the history of the human spirit. MITS is aware of its responsibility for creating such an environment which may shape the thought and emotion of its promising young students. With this in mind it holds its Annual function, BASANTUTSAV, a complete celebration and a unique blend of modern and traditional performing arts. Basantutsav is a well organised two day event and the below mentioned are the striking activities which are taken care of on the MITS campus:
intercollegiate Competitions on Debates, marketing games, T-20 Cricket Tournament, Carrom Board Championship, Chess Championship,Lan Game etc. Rock Show for the young and dynamic.

The celebration of National Science Day on 28th February every year as on this day Prof. C.V. Raman discovered what is known among the scientists as "Raman Effect" is another mile stone in the progress of the Institutions. It is meant to encourage the students to introspect and take a stock of the importance of science and technology.
